A Rare Gilt Music Stool Attributed To Gillows
A rare gilt music stool attributed to Gillows. Raised on scaly claw and ball feet with acanthus carved knees supporting a carved and reeded column. The seat revolves and is height adjustable by means of a threaded steel screw and retains its original horse hair upholstery with roll stitched edge. The stool is a very rare item which retains some of its original gilding. 510mm high (at its lowest setting) the seat is 330mm square and the feet have a 410mm diameter. English. Circa 1835.
