Types of Antique Lighting

Ormolu is the term for gilt bronze, created by applying a thin layer of gold to a bronze base. It was widely used in French lighting, clock cases and furniture mounts from the 18th century onwards. True ormolu has a rich, warm gold colour that improves with age.
