A highly authentic and characterful early 18th century side table crafted in solid English oak. The three-plank top sits over a single drawer and shaped apron, all raised on particularly attractive, distinctive, boldly turned legs. The surfaces have developed a deep, honest colour through centuries of use, and the drawer retains a nice early hand-forged iron lock.

The combination of early form and refined, stretcher-less design makes it highly versatile, perfectly scaled for use as a functional side table, elegant hall table or as a distinctive, single-drawer bedside table. Often referred to in American terminology as a ‘lowboy’, its authenticity and strong originality would make it a handsome addition to any discerning home.

Presented in very good antique condition with a warm patina and honest wear consistent with age. The frame is structurally sound and stable, with later brass handles and one historic repair to a leg. Clean and ready to place in the home.

English, circa 1710.
