Antique Edwardian Mahogany Quatrefoil Occasional Table c.1905
An elegant Edwardian mahogany occasional table of quatrefoil form, the top outlined with fine boxwood stringing, above slender tapering legs united by a curved cross-stretcher, giving the piece both visual poise and stability.
Light in construction and refined in detail, it exemplifies the revivalist spirit of the Edwardian period, drawing on late Georgian motifs with a more decorative sensibility. The lobed top offers a pleasing change from more typical circular or rectangular forms, while the inlay and stretcher provide subtle refinement without excess.
Presented in very good antique condition. The top retains a warm sheen with minor signs of age, and the frame is solid and stable. Beautifully clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1905.
