A superb Edwardian desk chair in solid rosewood, finely inlaid with brass in the Sheraton Revival taste. Likely intended as a decorative drawing-room piece, though proportioned perfectly for use at a desk or writing table with arms shaped to allow the chair to sit neatly beneath.

The design reflects Regency influence, with sabre legs, reeded scroll arms and a double-rail back inset with stylised hand-cut brass motifs. The seat is upholstered in high-quality brown leather and finished with brass studs.

Well-balanced and refined, this chair offers both decorative presence and practical comfort. Equally suitable as a desk, hall or occasional chair where a touch of period elegance is desired.

Presented in very good antique condition with only light wear consistent with age. The brass inlay is all present and flush, joints sound, polish rich and even. Structurally sound and ready to place.

English, circa 1910.
