A wonderfully original late Georgian mahogany tea table in the neoclassical style. The beautifully figured mahogany fold-over top with rounded corners opens to reveal a clean polished surface supported by a rear double gateleg action. The frieze is inlaid with satinwood and boxwood, all raised on slender square tapering legs outlined with delicate stringing.

The table embodies the lightness and precision of late Georgian craftsmanship. A versatile piece of pleasing scale suited to use as a console in a hallway or drawing room, while the fold-over top offers a practical expanded occasional surface.

Presented in very good original antique condition with a warm aged patina, minor surface wear and a few old marks to the top consistent with age. Historic traces of inactive worm to the softer wood of gateleg sections, inactive, long gone and entirely stable. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.

English, circa 1790.
