Antique George III Oak Bureau c.1780
A fine Georgian bureau of smaller proportions constructed in solid oak, with a fall front desk above two short over three full-width graduated drawers and raised on original bracket feet. The writing slope opens to reveal a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeonholes. The top and sides are of well-figured oak, with a deep, even colour and honest wear.
A practical and characterful example of late Georgian provincial furniture. Compact in form with strong lines and no excess, ideal as a writing desk or laptop station with storage to spare. The smaller footprint really sets this one apart from other examples.
Presented in very good condition, with an attractive patina and light age related surface wear. Structurally all in good order and ready to place in the home.
