Antique Georgian Mahogany Commode Chest c.1830
A late Georgian mahogany commode chest, now converted for practical storage use while retaining its original exterior design. The piece features four simulated drawers with turned mahogany pulls, veneered fronts displaying fine flame-figured grain, and a hinged top edged with a neat run of beading, all raised on shaped bracket feet.
The piece now serves as a versatile storage chest, ideal beside a bed, in a dressing room or used as a blanket chest in a living space or hallway. The transformation preserves its authentic Georgian charm while offering a practical modern use.
Presented in very good antique condition with an even patina, some surface wear and an old filled split to the top. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1830.
