A fine oak side table, dating to around 1680–1700. Well-proportioned and of honest provincial character, the rectangular top is formed of thick oak boards with thumbnail-moulded edges worn smooth through centuries of use, the surface glowing with a richly developed, lustrous depth of colour.

Below sits a single frieze drawer with deep, hand-cut mouldings and later brass drop handles, all raised on turned baluster legs united by plain box stretchers and set on integral ball feet. Its compact size and strong presence make it a versatile piece, equally suited to a hall, study or living space.

Presented in very good antique condition, with an exceptional warm patina and wear consistent with age. Later brass handles, minor historic repairs and surface marks all add to the integrity of the piece. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.

English, circa 1690.
