Antique Late Georgian Mahogany Bow Front Kneehole Dressing Table c.1800
A late Georgian kneehole dressing table in well-figured mahogany. The shallow bow-fronted top sits above a central drawer and kneehole recess, flanked by a pair of deep drawers. The apron is detailed with carved fan motifs, and the piece stands on turned legs typical of early nineteenth-century English cabinet work.
Originally conceived as a dressing table, today it would serve equally well as a side or console table in a bedroom, hall or study. Elegant and decorative with the restrained neoclassical character of quality late Georgian furniture.
Presented in very good antique condition, with a rich aged patina and some surface marks to the top. Some evidence of long-dormant worm, and one section of wood beneath a drawer has been replaced at some point. Drawers are fitted with later brass ring handles. Structurally sound, with all drawers running smoothly, the piece is clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1800.
