A superb and highly refined George III mahogany fold-over card table distinguished by its beautifully figured top framed with finely executed satinwood crossbanding and delicate ebony stringing. The craftsmanship is elegant and restrained, with a rich, well-preserved patina that speaks to the quality of the timber and the care it has received throughout its life.

The fold-over top opens smoothly to reveal the original-style baize gaming surface supported by a robust rear gate leg when extended. The table stands on four exceptionally elegant turned legs with ring turning and tapering profiles—an unmistakable hallmark of late Georgian design.

This is a particularly graceful and versatile Georgian example, ideal as a card table, lamp table, or statement console. Its proportions, colour and surface quality place it firmly in the premium category of Georgian occasional furniture.

Condition

A very fine example in excellent antique condition. The mahogany retains a rich, even colour with a soft polished sheen. Minor, expected surface marks consistent with age and us  but nothing that detracts from its presentation. The baize is clean and serviceable, the hinges operate smoothly, and the table stands firm and true. A well-cared-for piece that remains both decorative and fully functional.
