Antique Regency Mahogany Pembroke Table c.1810
A particularly elegant Regency mahogany Pembroke table in the late Neoclassical taste. The top features drop leaves with rounded corners, above a slim frieze with a single drawer retaining its original brass handle. The table stands on reeded square legs united by a beautifully shaped stretcher and terminating in original brass caps and castors. Constructed throughout in solid, well-figured mahogany with a pleasing, even colour.
Light and refined in design, the table reflects the clarity and balance characteristic of early 19th-century cabinet work. Its narrow footprint when closed makes it easy to place in a hallway, living space or study, with the option to extend when required.
Presented in very good antique condition, with a warm, aged patina, minor losses and surface wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1810.
