Antique Victorian Mahogany Gentleman’s Shaving Stand c.1890
A late Victorian mahogany shaving stand, crafted in the elegant Regency Revival style. The circular double-sided mirror is set within a mahogany frame, with one side offering standard reflection and the other magnification. It is mounted on an adjustable brass support, the height controlled by a finely carved wooden knob to the stem.
Below, a rotating circular platform rests on a turned column with a fluted baluster, standing on cabriole tripod legs with scroll feet. A versatile and particularly decorative piece for a bedroom or dressing room.
Presented in very good antique condition with a deep, even colour and mellow patina. All adjustments operate smoothly. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1890.
