Exceptional Quality Antique French Louis XV Style Marquetry and Ormolu Mounted Display Cabinet
An exceptional quality antique French Louis XV style marquetry display cabinet beautifully crafted in kingwood and tulipwood with superb ormolu mounts and intricate parquetry veneers.
This elegant vitrine features a serpentine front with bevelled glass panels to the sides and door opening to reveal a mirrored back and two glass display shelves. The interior is lined in soft pale velvet designed to reflect light and highlight decorative pieces or fine collectibles.
The cabinet is richly adorned with gilt-bronze floral mounts, classical corner embellishments, and moulded framing. The shaped apron is mounted with a finely cast ormolu mount, and the piece stands on elegant cabriole legs with gilt sabots, typical of the refined French craftsmanship of the mid-19th century.
With its graceful proportions, exquisite detailing, and refined presence, this cabinet perfectly embodies the luxury and artistry of Second Empire France.
