Georgian Mahogany Bracket Clock by Roskell of Liverpool
An extremely good quality English late Georgian figured mahogany antique bracket clock with pagoda shaped top, relief carvings and inset panel finished with brass mould stood on brass ball feet. The clock has delicately carved spandrels with scroll carving, ornamental carved mould and leaf carving to the front. The brass bezel has a decorative pattern with bevelled glass door and the white painted dial has Roman numerals and the makers name -

The movement is a twin fusee, five pillar, eight day duration on chain with pull repeat action which strikes the hours on a bell. The clock has a strike-silent feature on the dial and the engraved pendulum has top adjustment and a hold fast. The brass back plate is engraved which also has the makers name.
Robert Roskell was a very successful watch, clock and chronometer retailer and maker. Roskell was a family business with John Roskell becoming a partner in 1805 and his son joining from 1825 becoming known as Robert Roskell & Son.
The clock comes with a contemporary, traditionally handmade mahogany wall bracket.
The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
