Pair of Antique Victorian Oak Side Chairs with Ceramic Tile Backs c.1890
An attractive pair of late Victorian oak side chairs featuring decorative ceramic tile inserts to the backrests, constructed in solid oak with turned front legs and a shaped crest rail above a bobbin-turned gallery.
Rich in character, a distinctive pair of chairs for a hallway, kitchen or informal dining space. The tile backs provide a splash of colour and detail while remaining firmly grounded in honest, practical craftsmanship.
Both chairs are stamped ‘BSFC’ to the underside, maker unknown. Presented in very good antique condition with only some light age related surface wear. One chair features a nice old repair to the front edge as shown. Both chairs are structurally sound with no movement and a clean finish, ready to place in the home.
Price is for pair.
