A Chamber writing table attributed to Gillows of Lancaster. Of fine quality, this small table bears all the hallmarks of Gillows including stamped patent castors, turned reeded legs, distinctive turned wooden knobs, two pin locks and of course the quality of timber and craftsmanship. With a drawer at either end, each with a hinged leather lined flap and an ink and pen tray in one drawer. The adjustable rising top has a thumb molded edge, cross-grain banding and inset leather writing surface. In very good and original condition and with a good colour. 760mm high, 710mm wide and 450mm deep. English. Circa 1825.
