Antique East Azerbaijan Carpet

This is an attractive handwoven antique carpet with a nice country house look dating from around 1890. The carpet has a most appealing colour palette and just the right amount of wear to it. The typical Afshar design has a large ivory central medallion enclosed by colourful geometric motifs in teal blue, royal blue and raspberry, and enclosed by pretty multiple borders. The carpet has overall wear which has subtly softened the colour palette over time

In ready to use condition with good ends and selvedges the carpet measures 196 cms by 153 cms.
