See shipping detailsA fine antique English mahogany fold-over table dating from the Regency period, designed to function both as a console table and a traditional card table.
The rectangular top with rounded corners displays beautifully figured mahogany veneers with crossbanded decoration and elegant brass line inlay forming a decorative border. When closed the table sits neatly against a wall as a console, while the top folds open to create a larger playing or occasional table surface.
The frieze features a central panel with decorative brass inlay framed by carved bead moulding, a refined classical detail typical of Regency furniture. The table is raised on a turned central pedestal with carved mouldings leading to four elegant sabre legs terminating in brass lion’s paw caps and castors.
Tables of this type were popular in Regency interiors for entertaining and social games, while also serving as practical console tables when not in use.
