See shipping detailsA fine antique English circular mahogany dining table dating from the Victorian period, circa 1860. The generously proportioned circular top is beautifully veneered in segmented figured mahogany arranged in a striking radial pattern, finished with a contrasting crossbanded border which frames the top elegantly.
The table is raised on a well turned central pedestal column standing on four elegant swept sabre legs terminating in brass castors. The pedestal base is both strong and refined in design and allows the table to be easily moved when required.
Circular pedestal tables such as this were widely used during the Victorian period as versatile centre dining tables, suitable for dining, tea or general entertaining. The circular form allows guests to sit comfortably around the table while also creating a balanced focal point within a room.
A particularly attractive example displaying excellent colour and figuring to the mahogany with a well proportioned pedestal base and impressive radial top.
