Antique Melas Carpet Rug

This is an antique handwoven Melas carpet from Turkey dating from around 1920. The carpet has a good colour palette featuring a warm coral shade with indigo blue and ivory. It has a three lozenge design with deep borders of stylised plants and serrated leaves. The carpet is in good order with a neat even pile and it measures 202 cms by 125 cms.
