This antique Victorian mahogany circular dining or centre table is an impressive and highly versatile piece, distinguished by its beautifully figured top and substantial carved pedestal base.

The large circular top displays rich mahogany grain and a deep, warm colour, finished with a moulded edge and supported by a broad frieze. Beneath, the table stands upon a boldly turned central column raised on three sweeping carved legs with pronounced scroll feet. The top tilts vertically when not in use, allowing the table to be stored more conveniently while also displaying the attractive mahogany surface.

Its generous proportions make it suitable as a six-seater dining table, while its elegant form would also work wonderfully as a statement centre table in an entrance hall, library or large reception room. Tilt-top tables were designed to provide flexibility within Victorian interiors, offering a substantial surface for dining or entertaining that could be moved aside when additional floor space was required.

Condition Report: In very good antique condition, with minor marks, surface wear and variations in colour consistent with approximately 165 years of age and use. The table has a strong, stable base and retains a rich, well-presented finish.
