A very attractive antique Victorian inlaid walnut pier cabinet of elegant proportions and unusually tall height, making it a particularly striking display piece. The cabinet is finely constructed in beautifully figured walnut with crisp foliate marquetry to the frieze and decorative brass mounts framing the corners and door.

The single glazed door retains its original brass beading and opens to reveal a fitted interior with shelves, each lined in red velvet to complement the warm tones of the walnut. The cabinet stands on a shaped plinth base and features rounded corners that soften the overall profile, giving it a refined and balanced appearance.

This is an excellent display piece for showcasing decorative objects, crystal, books or fine porcelain, and its exceptional height allows it to work especially well in hallways, drawing rooms or narrow spaces where a vertical emphasis is desired.

Condition:

In very good antique condition with a lovely warm patina. Minor age-related marks are present but not distracting. Brass mounts and beading are well preserved. Structurally sound and ready to place.
