Fine Pair Of Chinese Pith Paintings Butterflies & Insects

This is a beautiful pair of Chinese watercolour paintings on pith from the late 19th century. The paintings are a study of insects in vibrant gouache colours and include butterflies and other winged insects. They are very finely executed and have great charm. These are both particularly complemented by the good quality frame and delightful marbled mount which is delicately coloured and has gilt detail edging with a further silver gilt to the inner mount. These are both in excellent orIginal condition.

The pair are a good size measuring 50 cms wide by 37 cms.
