Francois Linke (1855-1946) was a French cabinet and furniture maker. He was born in the Czech Republic in 1855 and then went on to work out of Paris from the 1870s onwards. Francois Linke was the single most driving force behind the transition from Louis XV to Louis XVI styles. Alongside Léon Messagé, he developed a new style for the 1900 Exhibition that paid homage to the Louis XV Rococo - much of his work is characterised by ornate gilding and looks great in high end interiors.
