French Louis XIV Style Boulle Mantel Clock
An extremely good quality late 19th century, French Louis XIV style ebonised antique mantel or table clock with boulle red coloured tortoise shell and engraved brass inlay to the case. The clock has boulle columns to the front corners finished with gilt bronze capitals, boulle domed shaped top with torch finials and pierced fretted panels. There are glass viewing windows to either side, which showcase the clocks movement.
The clock has brass dial with Roman numerals on velvet background with females playing the trumpet. The movement is a French eight day duration which strikes the hours and half hours on a gong
