French Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze & Porcelain Mantle Clock by Japy Freres
Description
An ornate French bronze gilt antique mantel clock in the Louis XVI style with laurel leaf swags, acanthus leaf moulding and ribbon and beaded detail standing on toupie shaped feet. The case has diamond design to the sides, and is surmounted with a porcelain urn which has white beaded detail and floral hand painted decoration with ivy border, and is finished with a finial.
There are inset royal blue porcelain panels to the case, with beaded and gilt detail, and a finely painted landscape scene to the centre. The dial has Roman numerals with a central scene of a male and female dressed in classical clothing.
The movement is a French eight day duration which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
