An excellent George III period inlaid mahogany serving table, or server. Of generous proportions and of bold serpentine form and of very good construction in solid Cuban mahogany. The superstructure is surmounted by a solid brass gallery. The table has a pair of drawers to the freeze which are decorated with inset fluted panels and oval inlaid panels. All standing on strong tapering square reeded legs. The whole piece is further adorned with inlaid stringing in boxwood and satinwood cross banding and ebony banding. There are charming inlaid oval panels with shell motifs at the top of the legs. The table stands well and would be an imposing piece of furniture in any room. Sympathetically repolished, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Now offered for sale in very good condition with a great colour and patina.
