Fine pair of 18th century mahogany open armchairs in the French Hepplewhite style. A style defined by the beautiful scrolling arm and typical cabriole legs with shell carving on the knees. Although French in design, these chairs are quintessentially English. George Hepplewhite''s workshop was in London and his manual of furniture design was first published in 1788.

Both chairs are upholstered in the traditional manner.
