Victorian Walnut Kidney Shaped Writing Table
Description
This very fine quality Victorian Walnut Kidney Shaped Writing Table is English made in the French taste. The Walnut veneer is offset by a contrasting cross grained moulding to the top. The brass mounts are of a good weight and finely cast.
With not a straight line anywhere in the design of this piece it would have taken a very accomplished cabinet maker to produce it. The generous sweeping lines are only emphasized by the flow of the brass mounts that match the curvature.
The whole piece is topped off by a distressed Apple Green Hide Top of the best quality. With a drawer for storage adorned with one of the most generously shaped handles I have seen, this table would make a real statement wherever it is placed. Being finished all round, it can be placed anywhere in a room.
