Antique George III Mahogany Chest of Drawers
A fine late 18th-century George III mahogany chest of drawers of elegant form and superb quality. The well-figured rectangular top with a moulded edge sits above two short and three long graduated drawers all fitted with original brass swan-neck handles and brass escutcheons.
Each drawer is oak-lined with hand-cut dovetail joints indicative of fine Georgian craftsmanship. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet and retains a beautifully rich colour and lustrous patina developed over more than two centuries.
Wood: Mahogany with oak drawer linings
Condition: Excellent antique condition. The drawers run smoothly; minor surface marks and wear consistent with age and use.
