Description

Constructed throughout with solid ebony and bone decoration to the inside and the outer surfaces being reeded producing an elegant box. Upon opening the writing surface is revealed with further storage compartments and three sweet little drawers.

Galle being a town in southern Ceylon

Retains its cylindrical rule. Some evidence of its working life as to be expected.

Replacement baize surface and lacking the original lock. We don't think either of these facts hold this item back and a good application of bees wax has brought out the true colour of the wood leaving a lovely deep shine.
