Edwardian inlaid ladies desk

This Edwardian inlaid mahogany desk was made circa 1900.

The red inset and gilt tooled writing surface have satinwood banding in the mahogany top that runs around the border.

It has a wide drawer above the kneehole and then the 3 graduated bow fronted drawers to each side, that finish above the elegant square tapering legs that have box wood stringing.

The Edwardian period is known as the ‘Age of elegance’ and this desk is a good example of the period.
