Exceptional Antique Pair of Louis XV Style Kingwood and Marble-Top Bedside Cabinets
Description
A superb pair of late 19th-century French Louis XV style bedside cabinets of exceptional quality and refined design. Each piece is beautifully crafted in finely figured kingwood laid in an intricate chevron pattern and framed by elegant crossbanding. The cabinets are embellished with finely cast and chased gilt-bronze mounts accentuating the sinuous curves and flowing cabriole legs so characteristic of the Rococo style.
The shaped Breccia marble tops — in delicate shades of cream, honey, and soft caramel — are beautifully figured and provide a sumptuous contrast to the warm tones of the wood. Each cabinet features two drawers with ornate gilt-bronze handles and escutcheons, combining elegance with practicality.
This exquisite pair captures the essence of French decorative art at the turn of the century, embodying grace, luxury, and timeless craftsmanship. Ideal as bedside tables, occasional pieces, or to flank a statement feature within an elegant interior.
