Description
A French Louis XVI style gilt bronze and porcelain mantel clock of superb quality dating from the mid 19th century. The finely cast case has acanthus leaf moulding and entwined leaf design, fluted columns, ribbon, fabric swags and pineapple finials to the top. The clock is surmounted with a porcelain urn, delicately hand painted with doves and floral design, flanked by two foliate handles and finished with finial to the top.
There are beautifully hand painted inset porcelain panels to the case with classical and landscape scenes. The porcelain dial is also hand painted with fine floral leaf design, Roman numerals, and it has the retailers name -
