An early 18th century George II burr elm chest of drawers of small and elegant proportions.

The rectangular caddy top is quarter veneered, cross and feather banded, with a cross grain moulded edge.

To the front of the compact chest are four long graduated oak lined drawers fitted with later but period gilt brass plate handles.

The chest is made with faded grained deal sides above further cross-grain mouldings around the perimeter.

The chest is raised and supported on the original shaped bracket feet.

Condition
The chest retains excellent patina, grain and colour.
Early chests of drawers of this size are highly sought after, particularly in this condition.
