Description
A superb George IV rosewood bracket clock by William Turner of London, made in the style of renowned designer Thomas Hope. The case has Egyptian design influences throughout with crisp carvings, decorative brass inlays and brass string inlays to the ebony mouldings. The case is finished with brass pineapple finial to the top, a decorative brass bezel and it stands on ornate brass ball feet.
The clock has a white painted 6 inch dish dial with Roman numerals and the makers name -

The clock is an eight day duration timepiece, twin fusee movement with pull repeat action which strikes the hours on a bell with top pendulum adjustment.
The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
William Turner was born around 1800 and was recorded at working at 167 Fenchurch Street in London. He gained his freedom of the Clockmaker's Company in 1821. He died in 1839.
