K0607 Antique Georgian 18th century slim gilded wall mirror or a console table mirror, having bevelled edge split plate, both of a later dates ( top plate with an etched star) in carved and moulded gesso and giltwood frame showing that desirable oxidation and with a Prince of Wales feathers carved centre crest and floral motifs below, all flanked by scrolled foliage decoration. This antique looking glass retains its original gilt and backboards. The decoration is solid and sturdy, no woodworm. The gilt is original, warm and mellow gold leaf. The George I mirror came to us from a private collector in Bath, England. It has been very well looked after over the years and it is in home ready condtion. c1730
