A 19thc Austrian Cold Painted Bronze
A 19thC Austrian cold painted bronze depicting a stork building a nest. Very well observed and in very good and original condition and bearing a stamp, ''Geschutzt'', under the tail feathers. Pronounced ''guess-shutst,'' the term is an abbreviation of gesetzlich geschutt, a German phrase that translates as ''legally protected'' or ''copyrighted.'' 150mm high, 145mm wide and 90mm deep. Austrian. Circa 1870.
