c. Circa 1780

A fine late 18th Century Sheraton period mahogany card table of untouched colour and patina. The fold-over top features a flame-figured mahogany panel banded by satinwood and cross-banded with mahogany, each separated with a very fine ebony and boxwood banding and a boxwood stringing to the edge. The square taper legs are inlaid with a sand-shaded oval fan at the top and further inlaid decoration to the toes.

In excellent condition throughout, it retains the original hinges and green baize.

This card table has developed the kind of ''skin'' associated with early walnut furniture.
