Description
A good quality French 19th century gilt bronze mantel clock in the Louis XIV style, with musical instruments to one side and a Roman soldiers helmet and shield to the other. The case has two doves to the top and stands on toupie shaped feet, with entwined floral leaf detail to the base. There are hand painted blue and white inset porcelain panels with floral design to the case and a white enamel dial with Roman numerals.
The movement is an eight day duration, which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside countwheel.
The back plate is stamped with the makers name -
