The front and sides are delicately inlaid with flowers, leaves, wheatsheaf's and ribbon in various dyed woods within a double boxwood stringing frame with dyed sycamore quilting background to the front.

The rounded corners have an ebony and boxwood design with acanthus leaf bronze gilt mounts terminating to tapering fluted legs stood on sabot feet. The two drawers have impressive bronze gilt beaded swan neck handles which are oak lined and have a working lock with their original key.

The reverse of the mounts are stamped JH.
