Outstanding quality 18th century oak longcase clock having a fabulous brass dial with a 12” silvered chapter ring showing roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, a magnificent painted Royal Naval sailing ship to the top flying the red ensign, possibly Admiral Lord Nelson’s boat The Victory which has a fabulous rocking movement, pierced brass spandrels and signed Alexander Nimmo of Lintlithgow with an eight day movement. The spectacular swan neck pediment case is profusely carved depicting ‘The Green Man’ to the trunk and a wonderful owl to base. Original key, weights and pendulum.
