A magnificent antique Victorian carved mahogany torchère of exceptional scale and presence, standing an impressive 150 cm tall. This exquisitely crafted piece displays the finest Chippendale-inspired carving throughout with a beautifully moulded circular top supported by an elaborate foliate and acanthus-carved capital.

The tall, fluted column is richly embellished with cascading ribbon and husk carvings before descending into a deeply sculpted baluster section. The tripod base features bold cabriole legs terminating in wonderfully detailed claw feet, each carved with superb definition and refinement.

The mahogany is of outstanding quality, displaying a rich, even patina that highlights the crispness of the carving. Elegant, sculptural and highly decorative, this torchère makes a striking statement in any room—perfect for displaying a sculpture, bust, floral arrangement or fine decorative object.
