William IV Rosewood Gothic Bracket Clock by Barber & North of York
Description
A superb William IV rosewood bracket clock with Gothic style case and cluster columns to the front finished with brass capitals. The case has an inset panel with brass moulding to the front, architectural mouldings and gadroon and leaf carving to the top, finished with brass pineapple finial. There are brass sound frets to the sides of the case and it stands on brass ball feet.
The clock has a 7 inch painted dish dial with the makers name -

The backplate is also engraved with the makers name. The movement is a five pillar, twin fusee with pull repeat action striking on a bell.
The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
James Barber & William North established their partnership around 1835 - 1847 and had a silversmith, watchmakers and jewellery business on Coney Street in York.
