A stylish Edwardian silver plated chandelier attributed to F&C Osler, with central foliate ceiling rose and gadroon hanger, with three hanging chains, terminating to suspended circular body.

There is pierced laurel leaf detail to the frame, elongated finial with gadroon detail to the top, and acanthus leaf design to the finial underneath. The three scroll arms each have beautiful cut crystal glass lampshades.

The ceiling light retains its original finish and there are no chips to the glass shades. The light has been rewired and is in working order.

Osler was established in Birmingham in 1807 where Thomas Osler manufactured icicle droplets and began making chandeliers. His son, Abraham Follett Osler, was a good businessman, and after succeeding his father in 1831 the company began to flourish. His brother Thomas Clarkson also joined the business, he focused on creating new designs and opened up a shop on Oxford Street in 1845, filling it with their high quality stock.

In 1851 The Crystal Fountain was designed and made by Osler, it was displayed in the central court of the Crystal Palace of the London Great Exhibition. It was the world's first glass fountain, made of four tons of pure crystal glass.

In 1919 Osler acquired lighting manufacturers Faraday & Son. The combination of metal and glass light fittings were in high demand.
